Night Ferry Vancover by Frederick Varley

Painted 1937. Varley moved to Vancover B.C. to be head of Department of Drawing and Painting at the school of Decorative and Applied Arts from 1926 to 1933. Varley had depression for a few years, and with depression came alcoholism. Once he got over his depression he moved back to Onatrio and begun focusing on his paintings agian. 

Tangled Garden by J.E.H. Macdonald

Painted in 1916 the tangeled garden was showing the late blooms and changes in weather, the intense sunshine. Macdonald showed the true beauty of summers floural scene. Even though the painting looks mystical, its just the real showing of what nature is really like.

Bright Land by Arthur Lismer 

This painting is a composite. The landscape is actual Topaz Lake in Killarney Provincial Park of Ontario. Lismer added a few extra trees in the foreground and an extra mountain in the background.

Afternoon SunLake Superior By Lawren Harris 
This painting is of Lake Superior, painted in 1924. Lawren Harris was passionate about the North Shore and was fascinated by the beauty of nature. In the early 1920s Harris's painting were characterized by rich, vibrant colours.

Moose Pond - Frank Johnston

Painted 1918.
This photo is painted of Moose Pond in the North West Territories.
Its an expansion of the South Nahanni River just below its waterheads.
Its the starting point of virtually 50km of white waters.

House of Ypres by A.Y. Jackson

This painting is a bombed house with horses moving along in the background. Jackson was the only member of the Group of Seven who experienced combat, Jackson enlisted in 1914 and was wounded in the battle of Mount Sorrel in 1916.

Lone Lake by Franklin Carmichael 

Painted in 1929. "Lone Lake" near Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.
This large scale watercolour  set the highest paid amount for "work on paper by the group artist". The piece sold for $330, 400 at auction. The painting was renamed to "Carmichael Lake" after the artist.
